How to Solve the Problem of Environmental Erosion for Touch Modules Under Complex Working Conditions in Industrial Applications1.A thick-layer anti-corrosion AF coating is adopted, featuring hydrophobic, oleophobic, acid and alkali resistant properties. Cutting fluid, lubricating oil, cleaning agents, as well as acid and alkaline mist cannot wet or adhere to the glass surface. Oil stains can be wiped off directly without penetrating into frame gaps along the glass surface. Compared with ordinary single-layer AF coating, its service life of friction resistance and chemical corrosion resistance is more than tripled. For chemical scenarios with high corrosion risk, a composite cover glass with AG+AF and chemical-resistant coating is available to resist long-term erosion from acid and alkaline gases and prevent coating failure caused by surface corrosion.
2.The four edges of the glass are finely ground and sealed with insulating protection, which prevents oil stains and moisture from penetrating into the bonding layer through the glass side edges to corrode ITO circuits, thus avoiding edge touch failure and local screen flickering.
3.The touch screen and equipment front frame adopt a dual sealing structure integrating an integral foamed silicone ring and dispensing sealing, abandoning the simple sealing method of single-point adhesive strips. It achieves seamless full-perimeter sealing and raises the protection rating to IP65/IP67.Fluororubber resistant to oil, acid, alkali, high and low temperatures is selected as the sealing material. Ordinary silicone will swell, age and fail after long-term exposure to cutting oil and chemical solvents. By contrast, fluororubber can resist erosion from oil contamination and corrosive gases, preventing dust and water ingress caused by aging and cracking of sealing components.
4.We adopt the fully laminated sealed module for the bonding process. In contrast to frame-laminated modules, the large hollow cavity in frame bonding is highly prone to dust accumulation and condensation. The fully seamless OCA bonding eliminates internal cavities, preventing dust and moisture from accumulating inside the screen and structurally avoiding corrosion to the ITO layer caused by internal dust buildup and condensation.
5.An integrally injection-molded sealed connector combined with a waterproof cable gland is adopted for the FPC cable outlet. The cable hole is filled and sealed with glue to prevent oil, moisture and dust from flowing backward into the module through gaps around the cables. Simple cable routing with drilled holes and no sealing is prohibited.
6.Thickened immersion gold highly corrosion-resistant flexible circuits are used for FPC cables with a gold layer thickness of no less than 30 microinches to enhance resistance to salt spray and oil contamination corrosion. The golden fingers and pads of the FPC are fully coated with transparent acrylic conformal coating to isolate moisture and corrosive gases, preventing pin oxidation and short circuits as well as burnout of the touch IC caused by corrosion.
How to Guarantee Touch Accuracy of Touch Modules When Used in Complex Environments1.Industrial-grade touch main control chips supporting both thick glove touch and wet screen suppression dual modes are adopted. Equipped with a built-in high-gain signal amplification circuit, they greatly improve capacitive sampling sensitivity. The chips can stably identify weak coupling capacitance generated by thick cotton, rubber and nitrile gloves, enabling precise touch operation without removing gloves.
2.The large-area foreign matter shielding algorithm for oil stains and water stains is enabled. The chip automatically identifies interference from continuous conductive oil contamination and water films, shields large-range abnormal capacitance signals, and only recognizes small-range effective touches generated by local finger pressing, thus resolving the issues of cursor jumping and false touches caused by wet or oily hands.
3.High-transmittance, low-impedance aluminosilicate tempered glass is selected, paired with high-conductivity AF hydrophobic and oleophobic coating to reduce dielectric loss of the glass and improve the penetration capacity of capacitive signals. The glass should not be excessively thick; industrial standard thicknesses of 1.1 mm and 1.8 mm are preferred, as overly thick glass will significantly degrade touch sensitivity under glove operation.
4.The full lamination process with low-loss wide-temperature OCA optical adhesive is adopted. Compared with the air layer in frame lamination, OCA bonding can minimize capacitive signal attenuation, improving the recognition stability of thick glove touch by more than 50%.
5.A dense AF oleophobic and hydrophobic coating is applied on the glass surface. Oil stains and cutting fluid cannot spread to form a continuous conductive film and will only condense into dot-shaped oil beads. This physically reduces continuous conductive interference, facilitates surface wiping, and greatly lowers the probability of false touches caused by wet or dirty hands.
